Hi to all !

These are the news for the month of June.

We are back from our trip to Brazil. We stayed over there ten days. It was then at Curitiba that I was really shocked by the poverty which surrounded us and the heaviness of the atmosphere, felt inside the house rooms. It is not strange to see beside a small house a big building, no matter if the house is sometimes to the point of collapsing. What took me also by surprise where the persons of very low income. They perform simple tasks in order to feed themselves. For instances, whole families pick-up trash bags at business downtown. They use big wagons, which are not pulled by any sort of animal, to transport them to recycle plants. Despite all this the people pay very much attention to the fact of making feel at home that newcomers.They treat them with a royal carpet.
And as communication concerns, there is no problem at all. The Brezilians are quite open. It is easy to adress them in Spanish and be understood. Another thing they pay very close attention is the meals prepared for their guests. The food is excellent and plenty. The gama of it is really considerable though their traditional dish is made of rice and tiny red beans. Corn is eaten in all fashions.

Going straight into the work done and my stay abroad. I would like, first of all, thank very kindly the family which lodged me. Secondly, the rehearsals began the very first day of my arrival. (It was a little hard…) It is true that their level of performance is different compared to ours, but they did their best in any case. Three rehearsals showed to be not enough for the musicians. The members of the choir were much better prepared, just one rehearsal was needed to review what was essentially important to see.
Five concerts were held at five different Baptist Churches. They were carried out during the church service ; and to be honest, that was another surprise to me. All seened to be the easiest way, they had in hand, to bring into fruition the evenings of evangelization. And finally, something else that caught my attention was the offering, there is no plate passed around during the service hour, all is done under the form of donation afterwards, directly to the treasury board.
